How much does it cost to go to the fair?
Gate admission for anyone 48 inches tall and over:
$15.00 - Fri, Sat and Sun.
Under 48" tall admitted free.
Anyone who rides the rides (regardless of height) must have either individual coupons or a ride wristband. Wristbands may be purchased on the midway for $35.00. Ride coupons are $1.00 each. The number of coupons needed varies from ride to ride. Purchase of a wristband allows you unlimited rides on that day. Watch for opening night and weekday promotions to be announced.
What are the security measures for the fair this year?
Scans with a hand wand will be performed upon entering the fair. Also, we have instituted a clear bag policy. Only clear bags no larger than 12"x6"x12" will be allowed. Clear fanny packs will also be allowed as long as they fall within the prescribed size. All bags are subject to search. The policy of both the Greater Baton Rouge State Fair and BREC is "No weapons will be allowed inside the fairgrounds, including Concealed Carry Permits."
What type of purses or tote bags are allowed at the fair?
Only clear bags no larger than 12" x 6" x 12" are allowed. Clear fanny packs will be allowed as long as they fall within the allotted size. No backpacks will be allowed. Diaper bags (accompanied with a baby) will be allowed after inspection. Medically necessary items will be allowed after inspection.
What should I do if I lose something at the fair?
Contact a Sheriff's Deputy who will direct you to the Lost and Found. If you discover a missing item after you have left the fairgrounds call (225) 755-FAIR. Any items not claimed within 30 days after the fair closes will be disposed of.
Who puts on the fair?
The Greater Baton Rouge State Fair is run by an all-volunteer Fair Board and is staffed by dedicated volunteers. To date over $4,600,000 has been donated.
